Show Adler some love as we will be at Lurie Children’s Hospital tomorrow as he will begin his chemo trial/study.
Adler has inoperable metastasized pilomyxoid astrocytoma brain cancer. He has two spots in his brain the house 10 small tumors. He has a tumor in his cervical spine, the one that has been growing, in fact it’s grown slightly since June even. Then his lower lumbar spine is thick with the same material as in his tumors. So tomorrow we begin the two year trial. Two years on this drug if he can tolerate it with monthly trips to pick up the medication, a full brain and spine MRI, echocardiogram and EKG and labs every month to monitor his heart and the tumors. Also a dermatologist and opthalmologist on board for possible side effects. It’s necessary. It’s the best option out if the options we have and we are grateful to still have options. We hope for great success!
